The game was really fun. I could see speed-runners having a great time with this game. The first thing I tried to do was move the boxes in-front of the cameras but that didn't work.
First of all: good job on getting the game done during the jam! I enjoyed playing through it. The axe swinging was fun, and the problem solving reminded me of games like Superliminal or Portal! I couldn't make out what the narrator was saying, but I got the gist eventually. The boxes also dropped at a really high rate if I didn't position or move my camera right, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Again: great job!
Thanks for trying out our game! Also big portal fans here, trying to make something novel using the destruction mechanics. We'll try and make the voice lines clearer, and improve the box physics.
Your game was pretty fun. I had troubles understanding half of what the narrator was saying. I felt encouraged to try to quickly beat each level. Breaking doors and boxes felt pretty good. I found myself dropping boxes accidently at times.
Thanks for playtesting and providing feedback! We made the boxes drop to prevent them going through walls, but I agree that can get annoying and it would be good to come up with a better solution. Useful feedback on the voice lines too - we processed one of our voices in audacity to try and make it sound like an AI voice.
There's free software you can download that provides text to speech if that's a style that's okay or have that be your basis then you edit it more in audacity. Your OS might already provide tools for text to speech.
This was a ton of fun! I'm a big fan of the Portal series so this is right down my alley! Are you planning to expand the game? The only real critique I have is I think you should rename it to "FIND THE AXE" 😉
But honestly, the best i can come up with is I would love to see some kind of interesting story attached to this like they did with Portal. Nice work!
Thanks for playtesting, glad you enjoyed it - "FIND THE AXE" haha, that is a consistent theme! We had a rough story worked out but only had time to put a few voice lines in, agree it would be good to integrate the story more completely with the game.
Congrats on the game! It was nice and challenging to play, I agree with some comments regarding the physics that can get a little frustrating. Other than that nice job for 2 weeks of development!
Pretty fun game! The only qualms i have is that the boxes could use more mass on their rigid bodies so they're not as easy to toss around by hitting them with other boxes and there is an exploit where if you pick up a box you are standing on you can jump up to fly and walk above the levels.
Thank you for trying out our game. Will try adding some more mass to the crates, though not too much or our protagonist won't be strong enough to lift them any more ;). We spotted the prop flying exploit fairly early on but decided to leave it in for now for people who find it to enjoy/use in speed-runs.
I liked it. Was enjoyable, though at points the physics got a little bit frustrating. Seemed to give me portal vibes a bit, but that might be the ominous robotic voice from above. I think it could be very good with a bit of polish. :
Played through the entire thing - it was fun, learned the hard way not to destroy everything since you needed the boxes every now and then. What I'm missing is a harder swing with greater impact and noise when you move the boxes around. Good job!
Great progress! With the new timer function, might be cool to get a full playthrough time in the endgame screen? Really fun game to speedrun :) Keep it up!
That would be awesome - the game jam finishes over the weekend so you might want to wait for the final version which we should be uploading before 11th July.

Glad you enjoyed it! Agree that it would be good if the crates blocked the camera vision.

Thanks! Agree we still have some work to do to make the physics work better.

It's really fun and I would certainly play more!

Thanks for the feedback, we went through a few iterations of tuning the physics, and think we have a few more to go before we get it right.
Great game, loved using the axe.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed using the axe!

Thanks for playing our game. We want to make destroying stuff as satisfying as possible, so will try and improve the axe swing and sound effects.

Thanks for testing our game out, full playthrough time is a good idea.
I really love your game , really nice work
Thanks for the feedback & playtesting - glad you liked it!
looks pretty pog, i think i'll make a video on this
